I'm an NYC retail beast & think about this stuff constantly.

1. 98% of people don't read signs.

2. If you still need a sign, it should be as concise as possible.

This one is a copy editor's nightmare on too many levels to discuss here. Are you reading this Josie? Try "Reopening 2/23" (or whatever day is correct) & you'll be getting closer.
