"Sunday Morning" Comin' Down

after traveling across the country, surviving a catastrophic crash, and basking at Burning Man, one of the coolest bikes I've ever had is coming home (from a sojourn in Owensboro -- in the bkgrd: Grand View family farm in Curdsville)

My Pummelvision on Vimeo

Insane smash-together of ALL of the 7500+ photos I've posted over the years on Flickr into a 4 1/2 minute video with a peppy techno soundtrack — created with about 3 clicks of a mouse. Works with Facebook photos, too! #like!

Thanks, Pummelvision!

Portrait of Paki (or maybe Jelani)

The most amazing visit I've ever had with a Louisville Zoo gorilla. I was literally the only guest at the zoo on this brisk winter day, and got to spend some quiet time with the residents of the gorilla house (and the giraffe house, also marvelous).

I got my friend here to come over and hang out with me, just inches away, on the other side of the glass. Magical. I won my friend's attention by accessing my inner ape. (thanks, Dian Fossey).

I thought this was Paki, but it may be Jelani. (you decide here)

THANK YOU for visiting with me! I made this portrait for you on the iPhone using the apps Vintage Picture & Tiffen Cool Effects, even though you probably don't surf the web much. This is actually a "straight" photo, not a collage, though it looks that way. The extraneous imagery is just reflections in the glass. This gorilla was just inches away from me. As I said… magical.

Fortune Cookie #2. Cookie #1 had no furtune inside. I feel liberated.

With Paki, at the Louisville Zoo, the only guest at this point. My day need not get any better. (joy!)

Oscar in snow and gourds

our first snow of the season was a surprise — the kind from childhood where you go to bed and wake up in the morning to a substantial blanket… over three inches. Adding to the wonder, was that I crashed at 3am… with absolutely no snow on the ground, or in the air.
