Downtown lex is under major, somewhat vexing construction. Still — there are tubular photo ops.

I actually made butter

The most amazing thing since I can't remember what. (and let's not forget the buttermilk by-product in the jar)

Good Buddhy

He watches over the kitty drinking fountain and is one oft favorite presents from my daughter.

2006 Commencement Speech by Wayne

After the Flaming Lips' amazing Forecastle performance, and also having seen them about 20 years ago as a club band, my fondness for them — and especially Wayne Coyne — has grown exponentially. This is his commencement speech given at his high school "alma mater." (It's two parts, so be sure to watch the second part)

Downtown Horsies

Not sure about another round of the downtown horsies, but why not, I guess? People definitely thrillin to Charlie's Alice in Wonderland motif

David Dick, a TV correspondent during CBS' news broadcast heyday and more recently a chronicler of the hamlet of Plum Lick in his native Bourbon County, died Friday at his home. He was 80.

Mr. Dick had suffered from prostate cancer. He vigorously fought the disease, often speaking publicly and writing about the toll it had taken on him.

At his life's end, he wanted to be at his home in Bourbon County.

Although he had reported from all over the world, in his later years he grew to know Kentucky from Paducah to Pikeville.
