One for the "King of the Jukebox"

Listening to Louis Jordan, "the king of the jukebox," always makes me happy. Another great option is Joe Jackson's wonderful Jumpin Jive album which is largely a tribute to Jordan and the other hep cats. Then, there's the Muppets, here doing a Jordan classic to great comic effect.

That darned cat

Mecca 1st Monday at Gumbo Ya Ya

1st Mondays

Joan Baez 'Rejoice in the Sun' - Silent Running

When I was a kid, the movie 'Silent Running' had a big impact on me. In retrospect, the entire movie doesn't hold up too well, but I still love its tender heart, and ahead-of-its-time message.
